Lena GUTKE, flûte

Lena Gutke obtained her master degree of fine arts (flute and chamber music) in Sweden at the National Music Conservatory, were she studied before settling in France in 1991. She entered the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Paris one year later and graduated with the highest diploma in 1994. Sweden and France continue to be her two artistic homes.

Lena is mainly devoted to chamber music and plays in various formations ranging from her favorite Duo Entracte with the harpist Odile Abrell, to chamber and symphony orchestras. Flutist on a freelance basis, she has played in concerts and tours all over the world. Lena might have started off as a classical musician, but today she excels in other styles of music as well, and her repertoire includes jazz, ethnic, modern and contemporary music.

Lena Gutke has been part of BabelEyes since the birth of the organisation, recording the flute parts on the CD and performing in live concerts.
